Great news:  The Supreme Court has denied the Petition for Writ of Mandamus, which allows the elections to proceed without interruption.;

The Law Firm of Cianfrogna, Telfer, Reda, Faherty, and Anderson, P.A. , hosted an event this evening at their beautiful offices in Titusville.  The event was well attended.  Senior Partner Louis Cianfrogna, his partners Robert Telfer, Dan Faherty, and Robert T. Anderson were all present, as were staff members and two associate attorneys, Mike Pirolo,  and Andy Tischler. Friends and supporters Joan Gray and David McLaughlin of Titusville came to show support, as did attorneys Jay Fowler and Steven Charpentier.  Shortly before the event began, Jim received a phone call from Representative Thad Altman's office, indicating that they are endorsing Jim's candidacy!  Great news, and thanks again to Lou and his partners for putting on such a great event.

The first campaign event kicked off at 5:30 today, at Stuart's Bistro in Indialantic.  The Bistro is a fabulous restaurant, and we were very lucky that Stuart Borton and his wife Nancy are supporters.  We had 37 people, that we were able to count, come to wish the campaign well.  Jim's election committee members Michael Kahn, Scott Glover, and Mark Anthony Gager attended, as well as numerous friends from as far back as high school.  Jim's mother, Rachel came, as did his brother, Dan.  Our daughter in law Hilary helped Cindy with all of our guests.  Representative Mitch Needelman surprised us with a very passionate endorsement of Jim's candidacy, as well as a campaign contribution!  We have known Mitch and Joannie for years now, and are lucky to count them as friends.  At the end of the evening, contributions exceeded $3,000.00.  Many thanks to all of our friends who attended, and to Nancy and Stuart for putting on such a great event.

Our Titusville kick off is tomorrow night at the law firm of Cianfrogna, Telfer, Reda, and Fahterty.

Happy Independence Day to all!  Cindy and I attended the Melbourne Fourth of July parade today, saw many friends celebrating the independence of our country.  It was great seeing so many folks participating, and honoring those who have served in our armed forces.  We flew our flag today too, in honor of all of our servicemen and women, and in honor of our son Joe, who served with the 101st Airborne in Iraq.  We are happy and proud that he served, and that we have him home safely.

The campaign became official on June 29, 2006 when we filed the Appointment of Treasurer and Designation of Depository at the State Division of Elections in Tallahassee.
We have a great organization, headed by Campaign Manager Cindy Earp, Campaign Consultant Nelle Ayres, Fundraising Chair Louis Cianfrogna, Treasurer Ross Whitley, CPA of Berman, Hopkins, Wright & LaHam, CPA, LLP.  Our committee includes State Attorney Norman Wolfinger, Sheriff Jack Parker, Scott Glover, James Theriac, Esq., Michael Kahn, Esq., Rob and Shelly Johnson, Stuart and Nancy Borton, Mark Anthony Gager, Esq., and Charlie Roberts, Esq.

On Monday July 3, 2006, we sent out a mailing to the members of the Brevard County Bar Association, and others, that announced our two events coming up on July 12 and 13.
