Today, July 21, 2006, Jim was elected Circuit Judge without having any opposition. He will take office in January. Until then, he is taking some time off, and afterwards, will be returning to work at the State Attorney's Office. Thanks to everyone for all the support and hard work!

As a private practitioner, I helped families with divorce, custody, personal injury, wills and probate, social security, and many other aspects of the civil justice system. Most recently, I finished over five years as a felony prosecutor in Brevard County, handling major cases, including homicide, drug sales, burglary and robbery, and sexual assault.
I have experienced the highest levels of prosecution, including cases where the death penalty was involved. During this time, I was responsible, either alone, or with co-counsel, for the trial of 23 major jury trials. If given the opportunity to be your next Circuit Judge, I will bring my years of experience to bear upon the rulings I make from the bench.
I will ensure that each person who appears before me is treated with dignity and respect. I will ensure that counsel who appear before me behave with professionalism, and treat the litigants and witnesses involved in those cases professionally.
